Francisco Tojal was born in Lisbon in 1987.

He earned his degree in Architecture in 2012 from the Faculty of Architecture at Lusíada University of Lisbon. After completing his studies, he relocated to London, where he lived and worked from 2012 to 2017.

During his time in London, Francisco gained valuable experience working alongside renowned architect David Adjaye from 2012 to 2015. There, he contributed to a variety of residential, cultural, and commercial projects across the UK, Africa, China, the United States, and South Korea. Among his notable collaborations are the Whitechapel Estate Development, Marian Goodman Gallery, Gwangju Pavilion, and the Rocksanda Ilincic Store.

From 2015 to 2017, Francisco joined the studio of renowned architect and designer John Pawson, where he was part of the project team for the new Design Museum in London, as well as The Oaks, a luxury hotel and spa in the Czech Republic.

In 2018, Francisco returned to Lisbon and founded his own architectural studio, Francisco Tojal Arquitectos. Since then, he has worked as an independent architect, overseeing a diverse portfolio that includes refurbishments, new constructions, and interior design projects, covering a wide range of scales and functions.
